Background

Jeff Phillips was born in Bakersfield California and resided there until entering the Army where he served as an infantry soldier, Big Red One. Upon honorably completing his service, Jeff returned to Bakersfield, started a family, and embarked on a career in law enforcement.

Education

Jeff graduated from Bakersfield High School and immediately entered the armed forces. After honorably completing his Army enlistment, Jeff completed basic training and the correctional academy and was hired as an officer for Shafter Police Department in Shafter California. He later completed the academies for Reserve Officer with Kern County Sherriff’s Department, California Department of Corrections, Seargent, Lieutenant, and Special Agent programs.

Work / Achievements

During Jeff’s career in law enforcement, he was assigned as a Special Agent conducting internal affairs investigations, fugitive apprehension with the US Marshalls, and a task force agent investigating internet crimes against children with Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Since retiring from law enforcement in 2019 and moving to Pinetop, Jeff has taken on a new role as a sole proprietor of a handyman business and a facilities manager for Sunrise Ambulatory Surgical Center in Lakeside.

Family

Jeff has a wife, two children, and three grandchildren. His daughter and her young family recently to Pinetop to raise their daughter in a safe community. Jeff also considers his dogs and cats as family and is an avid wildlife watcher with his hound.

Hobbies

Jeff enjoys camping, traveling, scuba diving, boating, fishing, shooting, off-roading, home improvement projects, and mechanical projects. He is dedicated to volunteering his time and helping anyone in need of skilled assistance who is not necessarily able to pay. He never misses an opportunity to cheer his wife on at running events.
