The Town has been approached by citizens who live in the county areas surrounding the incorporated Pinetop-Lakeside areas to investigate the possibilities of annexation.
A survey has been issued to get general feedback on the annexation of 4 possible areas.
Here are some quick facts to take into consideration.
- The Town DOES NOT collect a property tax. Annexation would not have an impact on your property taxes.
- Annexation is not an issue that would ever be “voted on”. Annexation requires the property owners in the annexed areas to sign a petition. There is a requirement, of 51% of property owners AND 50% of property value in the area, for this to move forward to the Town Council. If this criteria is not met, the annexation would not go forward.
