Homeschool Resources

The library has a special Homeschool and Education section with many books, an atlas, a social studies curriculum, maps, journals, and other materials available for checkout. Learning Kits, games, manipulatives, musical instruments, STEM building materials, and science models, are also available for checkout by an adult. These kits are inventoried upon return to determine all pieces are returned by the responsible patron.

Parent Resources

The library has early literacy programming for young children and their caregivers each Wednesday and free parent-child literacy workshops throughout the year.

There are resources available for parents related to child development, nutrition, childcare, school readiness, and homeschooling. Some of the following resources are available at no charge.

American History

The library has a large nonfiction section with several current American History texts as well as older published works. The collection has notable texts on the Revolutionary War, Civil War, World Wars and September 11th, the Iraq War, and the Vietnam War. There are books about current events, issues, and struggles our country has faced in history, including a large section of memoirs and autobiographies of important people in American History. 

Arizona History

The Arizona and Southwest Collection is stocked full of history and recent books about Arizona. From the early cultures to the Natives, Pioneers, Ranchers, Farmers, and Immigrants, there is a wide selection of both people and places in the Grand Canyon state, and the White Mountains.

Youth Non-Fiction

This section has books about government, the fifty states, and many different cultures. We have a wide variety of Native American folktales in beautiful picture books, of Navajo, Hopi, Apache, and other native cultures, by native authors and Illustrators.

The library has an extensive youth biography section to includes beautifully illustrated, informative texts of interesting figures who have made a difference in our world. These biographies cover a wide spectrum of famous and unknown people from history who are remembered for their contributions to better our world.

Puzzle Exchange

We often get donated puzzles, and these are available for exchange and borrowing. We do not count the pieces but appreciate a note if there are missing pieces so we can alert the next patron who may borrow a puzzle. Bring one, take one, enjoy!
